Border Drip Watering Kits
Drip watering is the most effective method you can use to water any area. The reason that drip watering is so efficient starts from the application of the water to the soil. With drip watering the water is applied to the soil in exactly the place that the water is needed. The water is applied at a very slow rate which allows the soil to absorb the water rather than allowing the water to run off and consequently wasted.
Drip irrigation spreads under the soil and will cover an area of between 50 and 60 cm in diameter. This produces a secondary advantage because only a small part of the soil receives regular water on the surface which reduces the area that annual weeds can take hold and establish. When water is applied to the soil a certain amount will evaporate as the soil will be warm from the sun. Drip irrigation cools a much smaller are of surface soil and so again less water is wasted
The water is applied below the plants canopy and this makes sure that all plant receive an even amount of water because they are not shadowed in a similar way to spray irrigation. The plants leaves and flowers stay dry so less disease afor teh leaves to deal with and no damage to the laves and flowers which spray irrigation will do.
Large areas can be watered as one zone because the system uses a low volume of water per hour.
